As part of a multi-year study gaining insight into the psychological perceptions of climate change, this gallery represents a month spent documenting through photo and documentary film, a project undertaken by professor of Psychology Dr. David Sattler of Western Washington University and the National University of Mongolia.

A team of students from the National University of Mongolia traveled nearly 3,000 km by overland vehicle, plane and even horseback, in order to interview through scientific questionnaire, the rural nomadic herders of Mongolia.

From the capital of Ulanbaatar, west to the outer reaches of the Kazakh-speaking Chinese border, the Altai Mountains, north to the border with Russia and crossing the Taiga of the Khövsgöl region and Khoridol Saridag mountains and back again, this gallery represents what I refer to as, “the trip requiring the experience gained from every trip I have ever been on.“

Staying in nomadic herding Ghers, or yurts, canvas tents of the Reindeer people, witnessing some of the largest glaciers in the world and interviewing eagle hunters, this project remains ongoing and part of an upcoming film to be released.
