Kashmir. Surrounded on all sides by the famed and storied Himalayan mountains, the summer capital and largest city of Jammu and Kashmir, India is Srinigar. A complicated city and extremely politicized area torn by conflict between India and Pakistan. Recovering from a violent history throughout the late 1990’s and early 2000’s, Srinigar and the surrounding area seek to build back an economy destroyed by war. As part of, “Lines of Control,” a ski film series shot for EpicTV with production company SouldRyders, this gallery represents the shooting locations of Srinigar and Gulmarg; a mountain town nestled under the Himalayas and incredibly close to India’s border with Pakistan. Heli-skiing, houseboats, floating markets on Dal Lake, big mountain lines and some of the heaviest snowfall in the world.
