Mongolia. Once the bearers of the greatest conquest the world has ever known. A massive country situated curiously between China and Russia, Mongolia’s capital, Ulanbaatar is an interesting mix of decades of soviet influence, and houses roughly two million, of the four million people that live in the entire country. Nomadic life is the culture of Mongolia, rapidly deployed Ghers, or yurts, shared by members of the same family typically, with incredible amounts of space in grasslands, high elevation steppe, forests, mountains and rivers. Herds of animals dot the vast landscape with goats, yaks, cattle, khainags horses and even camels. Famed Mongolian eagle hunters protect an ancient cultural style of hunting; training the renowned and gigantic golden eagles.
